Dave Ulrich

Dave Ulrich is Professor of Business Ad-ministration at the University of Michi-gan where he is on the core faculty of the Michigan Executive Program, Co-Director of Michigan’s Human Resource Executive Program, and Advanced Human Resource Executive Program. No one doubts that the bar has been raised on human resources.


He has published over 90 articles and book chapters. Fernando Lanzer Pereira de Souza has worked both as an executive and as a consultant for over 30 years, often in both roles for the same companies. As a consultant he engaged in several projects for Banco Sulbrasileiro, Bankers Trust NY, and for the Odebrecht Organization. He also led projects for Votorantim, Saint-Gobain, and for the Brazilian Federal Government (IAPAS), among others. As an HR executive he has worked for Banco Sulbrasileiro and Banco Iochpe/Bankers Trust. For the past 15 years he has played many different roles within ABN AMRO Bank, in Latin America (Head of HR) and in Amsterdam (as Global Head of Leadership Development and Learning). He has acted most of the time also as a change agent, integrating acquisitions of smaller banks into the ABN AMRO organization,
and until recently, managing the development of ABN AMRO’s “Top 200” leaders. Attracting and developing top talent coming from different cultures in five continents has been an important part of his latter role, since 2003.

Fernando is now an international management consultant, based in Amsterdam, and focusing on people management issues, the human side of change programs, and the effectiveness of the Human Resources function. He is also a member of the Supervisory Group of AIESEC International, the world’s largest student exchange network.

Christian Vasino joined Adecco in 2003 and was appointed Chief HR Officer of the Adecco Group as of April 2007.

Christian Vasino (*1972) started his career as a lawyer. Since 1998, Christian held leading positions in HR management. In December 2003, he joined Adecco Italy as HR Director, based in Milan. In May 2005, he became Vice President Group Human Resources. As of April 2007, Christian is Chief HR Officer and member of the Executive Committee of the Adecco Group.

Christian holds a degree in law from Turin University, Italy. He is married and has one son.

Lars Haggstrom is since June 1st last year Sr. Vice President for HR at Gambro, a global MedTech company headquartered out of Stockholm, Sweden. Prior to joining Gambro Mr. Haggstrom held the position as Head of HR for Sweden Operations at AstraZeneca, and has before this worked in both the US and the UK for the American pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly & Co. In the US as HR Director for Lilly’s operations in South America and in the UK as head for Eli Lilly’s T&D-organisation in Europe.

Mr. Haggstrom’s want to make sure HR plays a critical role in the success of any organization it operates within. Hence must it be an integral part of the business and make sure all that it does ultimately adds value to bottom line, in the short-, or the long-term. Areas of special interest include leadership and organisational development.

Anna's current responsibilities span the European organisation, with a focus on building, developing and acquiring talent, continuously raising the bar on Whirlpool Europe’s skills and competencies.
Anna Joined Whirlpool Europe from abbey National, where she was Head of Learning Strategy.Prior to this, she was a Senior Manager at Accenture, where she enjoyed a 9-year management consulting career in the area of Human Resource Management, Organisational Transformation and Leadership Development.

She holds a First Class BA (Hons) in Humanities, an MSc in Organizational Behavior from the University of London. Her passion is personal and organisational development, to this end she holds professional qualifications in person-centered counselling and is currently training in Gestalt psychotherapy in London.

Jenny Arwas - Director, BT Group Operations HR - BT

Jenny joined BT in 1977 and spent 10 years in the catering organisation. After spending some time in roles with substantial responsibility for revenue, major hospitality commitment and dispersed teams she was appointed to head the District Catering operations with food production of c6000 meals per day.she studied a postgraduate qualification in Personnel and Development and was quickly integrated in the personnel organisation where her early experience was in a mix of HQ and specialist activities, largely in the field of resourcing. In 1992 Jenny managed the major redundancy programme company wide which resulted in 32,000 people leaving the company on voluntary redundancy terms during the year and was subsequently involved with the major process re-engineering initiative in BT supported by a team of North American consultants.

More recently her posts have included supporting large engineering and customer services operations and heading up the corporate employment policy unit. She was invited to join the Human resources board for BT in the UK with responsibility for HR in 3 operating divisions and the Internal Communications operation across the UK. This additionally involved the development of BT's contribution to the Millennium Dome. More recent roles include HR Director for BTUK Sales and Markets, managing the HR interests in the BT Wireless European ventures and Senior VP HR in BT Openworld in February through the turbulence of the dot.com boom to bust. At present her role is HR Director Group Operations since January 2003, and recently she has taken the lead on BT's relationship with Accenture for delivering HR Services, and for the Executive succession and talent agenda across the BT Group. Jenny is also a member of the Princes Trust London Council and a non executive director of the employment Opportunities body.

Katrin Neuendorf - Director, Compensation & Benefits EMEA - Microsoft

Katrin Neuendorf has 12 years of International HR experience. At Microsoft Ms. Neuendorf leads the C&B function for Europe, Middle East and Africa. She has previous experience in different industries including: EADS (European Aeronautics Defence and Space Company), TUI and Thomson Travel Group. Ms. Neuendorf worked as a management consultant specializing in international HR topics when working at Ernst & Young. Her consulting work covered areas like Performance Management, C&B, international mobility, M&A and shared service centres.

Ms. Neuendorf started her career in banking services at Deutsche Bank. Having studied an international programme she decided early on for an international career and she has worked in international environments ever since. She lived in the UK, Switzerland as well as in Germany.

Vikki grew up in England and currently lives in Amsterdam. She graduated in Law in 1990 from Manchester University and went on to receive her CIPD and MA in Human Resource Development from Southampton Business School.

Vikki is currently Nike’s Global Director for Functional and Technical Learning having recently vacated her role as the EMEA Learning & Development Director. Prior to Nike she worked in many different industries in an HR capacity, interspersed by several periods travelling around the world doing very little!

Nancy joined Nike in 2003 as Director of Learning and Development for USA Commerce and most recently held the position of Director of USA Learning and Development.  Prior to Nike, she operated her own consulting business, The Turner Group, specializing in organization development and organization performance.  Nancy held positions of progressive responsibility in the field of leadership development during her twenty years at Bank of America where her last position was Vice President, Northwest Training and Development.

Nancy holds a B.A. degree from University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire and several professional certifications in organization development (NTL) and training and HR development (UC – Berkley).

Nancy grew up in the USA state of Wisconsin; she now lives with her husband and two dogs in Portland, Oregon.

Ron McInnes is a Vice President for Human Resources in the Volvo Group. Ron is responsible for leading the development of a Group HR strategy as well as communications activities in partnership with line HR organisations throughout the Volvo Group. Since joining Volvo, Ron has been instrumental in the launch of a project to transform the HR function in the Group. This includes establishing a common HR platform to replace 70 legacy systems, creation of multi-lingual service centers, the possible outsourcing of transactions and the development of the “HR business partner” role. The project aims to improve service quality, provide better strategic support for the business and reduce HR operational costs. Ron has also been involved in the implementation of a post-merger culture integration/culture development process for Volvo, following the acquisition of Renault Trucks by the Group.

He also led the design and implementation of a global performance management system – the first-ever common HR tool in the Volvo Group. Prior to joining Volvo Group, Ron was Head of Management Support and HR Policy Division in the OECD, based in Paris .An Australian national, Ron lives and works in Belgium.

The Consumer Banking business in Europe, Middle East, Africa. The business is present in 30 countries and employs around 28,000 people.

Previous roles in Citigroup have included Compensation & Benefits Director Global Corporate Bank CEEMEA (Central & Eastern Europe, Middle East Africa) HR Generalist for Africa, Staff Relations and Employee Communications in UK, Compensation & Benefits for Western Europe and membership of the senior HR training faculty.

Before joining Citigroup, HR roles with ITT/STC which included Compensation Head STC plc (now part of Northern Telecom) and Personnel Manager of ITT Semiconductors.

Marc Timmerman is a clinical psychologist and has been working at Hudson since 1994 and currently manages the Hudson Talent Management division in Europe.
